1,000 Solar Units To Be Installed For Domestic Electricity Across Jordan

AMMAN — The government on Monday signed an agreement with Kawar Energy Company to install 1,000 solar cell systems aimed at generating electricity for the homes of citizens in various governorates, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The agreement, signed by Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Saleh Kharabsheh and the chairman of the board of directors of Kawar Energy Company, Kareem Kawar, comes as part of the second phase of the programme launched by the Jordan Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fund, according to Petra.
The programme aims to support the domestic sector in various governorates of the Kingdom, to reduce the burden of monthly electricity bill on citizens and to increase the amount of renewable energy generated nationally. Kharabsheh said that the fund works within the framework of a plan approved for the years 2016-2020, Petra added.
