September 6, 2018

Washington, D.C.- Jordan’s Ambassador Dina Kawar joined the Middle East Investment Initiative (MEII) last week to celebrate their 10th anniversary alongside MEII's President Jim Pickup former US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and former Senator George Mitchell. Together, they discussed with the attendees the political and economic importance of development in the Middle East.
MEII is a non-profit organization that leverages public and private resources to deliver finance and technical assistance programs to stimulate sustainable economic activity and long-lasting job creation in the Middle East and North Africa. MEII opened up an office in Jordan last year to support and grow the local community of small and medium enterprises through technical assistance, financial support, and improved access to credit. The Financial Literacy and Matchmaking Program (FLMP), launched by MEII, is a three-year Technical Assistance program aimed at developing the accounting and financial literacy of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Jordan. This program provides technical assistance and training directly to SMEs to help them better understand their financial performance and its impact on their businesses.
