Dana Biosphere Reserve sees active tourist turnout during Eid

The Dana Biosphere Reserve, south-central Jordan, saw, during the Eid al-Fitr holiday, an active tourist turnout to all its archaeological and environmental attractions, such as the Feynan Ecolodge, the Guest House and the Tower area as well as areas near the reserve such as Lahtah forests and the Rummana Campsite.

The total number of domestic and foreign visitors exceeded 800 visitors between day and night visitors, 40 percent of whom were local visitors, according to its director Amer Rufou'.

During the Eid holiday, the reserve received tourist groups for various sites and facilities, where various tourist programs were implemented for them, Rufou' added.

Latest environmental field studies in the reserve recorded 216 species of birds, 38 species of mammals and 833 species of plants, a total of 50% of the recorded wildlife in Jordan.
