JIC participates in the Union for the Mediterranean trade, investment forum

Jordan Investment Commission (JIC) participated in the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) Trade and Investment Forum, dubbed:" Creating Opportunities for Jobs in Times of COVID-19."
According to the JIC’s press statement issued on Wednesday, its Chairman, Dr. Khaled Wazni, presented the policies needed to confront the pandemic's impact on investment and the means required to stimulate investment, create job opportunities and maintain supply chains within the country, regionally, and globally through joint trade and investment.

Organized in coordination with the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the event saw the participation of about 200 policy makers, and representatives of the private sector, civil society and academia to discuss the contribution of trade and investment to employment creation in the Mediterranean region, according to press release issued by the forum.
At the meeting, the regional stakeholders will discuss creation of job opportunities in the Mediterranean region in light of the Covid-19 pandemic, which has led to a surge in unemployment rates, added the statement.
