King, Russian FM discuss ties, region

AMMAN -- His Majesty King Abdullah II on Monday received Russian Foreign minister Sergei Lavrov and discussed with him the strategic ties between Jordan and the Russian Federation and the latest developments in the Middle East region.
During the meeting at Al-Husainiyah Palace, the King and Lavrov emphasized the importance of promoting bilateral ties in political, military and economic spheres. 
The talks focused on Syria on stressed the need to find a political solution to the Syrian crisis. They also tackled the ceasefire in southwest Syria, which was reached between Jordan, the U.S. and Russia.
The meeting also dealt with new efforts to push the peace process between the Palestinians and the Israelis forward, in addition to finding political solutions to the crises facing the region.
