Amman, Dec. 7(Petra) - President of the Jordanian Businessmen Association (JBA) Hamdi Al-Tabba, early Thursday strongly condemned U.S President Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and his plan to move his country's embassy to it.
This decision will have serious implications on the security and stability in the region and will undermine efforts to resume the peace process, stressing Jordan's firm stance under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II towards Jerusalem and the Palestinian cause, aiming to the preserve all Islamic and Christian holy sites, Al-Tabba said in a statement.
He also praised his Majesty's continued efforts to solve the Palestinian issue and address the status of Jerusalem within a comprehensive solution that leads to the establishment of a Palestinian state based on the two-state solution, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The JBA president called for working comprehensively and to unify efforts to reject and counter the US decision, stressing that Trump's decision is a clear violation of international legitimacy and the United Nations' resolutions.
